Privacy Policy

Effective October 23, 2026 · Couple Court ("we") · Contact: mike@rawbales.com

Couple Court is a parody entertainment app. There are no accounts: we don't ask for your email, phone, contacts, or location, and we don't sell or share data for advertising.

What we collect

  • Case content you type: the names/nicknames and each side's story, the case type, judge, and Spicy setting, plus the AI-generated verdict and whether each party accepted the peace deal.
  • Device tokens: a random code stored on your device that proves which cases you created or joined (so you can accept deals or delete cases). It is not linked to your identity.
  • Usage analytics: anonymous page-view counts via Vercel Web Analytics (no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no advertising IDs).
  • Technical logs: IP address and request logs kept briefly by our host for security and rate limiting (to stop abuse).
  • Reports: if you report a case, we store the case ID and reason.

How it's used and who processes it

  • OpenAI receives the case text to generate the verdict. Per OpenAI's API policy, API data is not used to train their models and is retained up to 30 days for abuse monitoring.
  • Vercel hosts the app and stores cases in Vercel Blob (private storage) in the United States.
  • Anyone with a verdict link can view the verdict (title, names, fault %, jokes) but not the raw stories. Invite links let the other party add their side.

Retention

Cases are kept up to 90 days, then deleted, unless you delete them sooner. Reports are kept up to 1 year for safety review. Server logs are kept up to 30 days.

Your choices and deletion

Go to Settings → Delete my cases & data to permanently delete every case this device created or joined, and clear local data. You can also email us to delete a specific case (include the link).

Children

Couple Court is not intended for children under 13 (Spicy mode is 18+). We don't knowingly collect data from children.

Sensitive content

Please don't include real full names, addresses, or private information. If a case mentions abuse, violence, or self-harm, we don't generate a verdict and instead show help resources.

Changes

We'll update this page if practices change. Questions: mike@rawbales.com.
